Editorial standards

The promise is simple: make the argument clear, put the evidence close to the claim, distinguish fact from judgment, and leave the reader better equipped to make a decision.

What carries weight

Last materially reviewed · 28 July 2026

Primary evidence

Official records, regulation, standards, company filings, product documentation, original datasets, and direct observation. These are preferred for consequential factual claims.

Independent evidence

Peer-reviewed research, credible institutions, and independent analysis with a visible method. Conflicts, samples, dates, and limitations matter as much as the headline.

Synthesis and inference

Connections drawn across sources are identified as interpretation. A plausible inference is not presented as an observed fact.

Executive judgment

Operator experience and personal positions are written in Juan's voice and scoped honestly. They explain a decision; they do not impersonate universal evidence.

How claims are labelled

Facts should be verifiable from a cited source or disclosed observation.

Estimates show assumptions, units, time horizon, and meaningful exclusions.

Inference explains how the conclusion follows and where another reading is plausible.

Scenarios are possible futures, not disguised forecasts.

Judgment is owned in the first person when it comes from experience or a point of view.

From question to publication

  • Define the executive question and the decision the article should improve.
  • Collect primary sources first, then independent evidence and counterarguments.
  • Separate observed facts, estimates, inference, scenarios, and personal judgment.
  • Draft the argument in Juan's voice, with sources beside the claims they support.
  • Review for accuracy, material omissions, employer boundaries, privacy, and practical usefulness.
  • Publish with an accountable author, update date where material, and a correction route.

AI assistance

AI may assist with research organization, source discovery, transcription, alternative drafts, translation, visual prototyping, and quality checks. It does not receive authorship or editorial accountability.

Juan owns the thesis, source judgment, material claims, final language, and decision to publish. No article is published autonomously. Statistics and quotations must be traceable to a source; uncertainty is retained rather than filled with invented precision.

Independence and confidentiality

This is a personal website. The views are Juan's own and do not represent ABB or any current or former employer. Public professional experience may inform judgment, but confidential, proprietary, client-specific, and employer-specific information is not published.

Commercial relationships, sponsorship, or material conflicts affecting a publication should be disclosed on the relevant page. Factual mentions are not endorsements.

Corrections

Material factual errors are corrected promptly and the page's modification date is updated. Substantive changes should be visible in the article or its methodology note. Minor spelling and formatting fixes may be made silently.
