How is BASICS different from the other tools?

BASICS is the meta-framework. The other tools answer specific questions (readiness, ROI, talent, change). BASICS scores the initiative against the full operating system and tells you which of the other tools to pick up next based on your weakest letter.

How long does the diagnostic take?

8–12 minutes for one initiative. The six steps each take 1–2 minutes.

Is this a maturity model?

No. BASICS is a sequence. Skip a letter and the work downstream costs more, takes longer, and is harder to defend. The diagnostic flags exactly which letter is dragging your initiative.

Where does the realistic value number come from?

From the math you provide in the Size step: theoretical value × capture rate × adoption rate, paid back over your specified payback months. We do not quote vendor case studies.

Can I run the diagnostic on a portfolio?

Yes. Run it once per initiative, then compare the hex scores. The portfolio bottleneck is usually the same letter across most initiatives, which tells you what to fix structurally rather than per-project.

Inputs are used only to generate your live report and are not persisted beyond the existing email-capture flow.
